Post  Gardevoir on Fri Jun 12, 2009 11:04 am

Gardevoir's team.

Well this is my legendary team the team i use for wi-fi battle.

I have an Arceus that's holding a flame plate. It's moves are Judgment, Recover, Earth Power, & Seismic Toss. It's level 100.
Then there's Raquaza holding leftovers. It's moves are Dragon Claw, ExtremeSpeed, Outrage, & Fly. It's level 100.
Next is Darkrai holding leftovers. It's moves are Dark Void, Dark Pulse, Dream Eater, & Shadow Ball. It's level 100.
Then there's Kyogre holding leftovers. It knows Water Spout, Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, & Aqua Tail. It's level 100.
Mewtwo is holding leftovers and is level 100. It knows Recover, Future Sight, Psychic, & Aura Sphere.
Last is Shaymin holding leftovers and is level 100. It knows Seed Flare, Magical Leaf, Substitute, & Energy Ball.
That's my team, any tips?

Re: Gardevoir's team

Post  Snurfsnarf on Fri Jun 12, 2009 11:16 am

Nice team, Gardevoir! I've battled it many times, so I would know that it can be tough to beat!

Okay, let's start with Arceus. All of Arceus's stats are pretty even, so a mixture of attack and special attack wouldn't be bad. Since it's so powerful, it probably doesn't need Seismic Toss. Also, it wouldn't hurt to replace Earth Power with Earthquake.

Next up is Rayquaza. Rayquaza's attack and special attack are both ridiculously high, but they're also pretty even with each other. I'm not so sure about Fly, but if you want a flying-type attack, its either that or Aerial Ace. I doubt you need both Dragon Claw and Outrage. If you keep just Outrage, however, you might want to give Rayquaza a Persim Berry instead (removes confusion). Either way, give Rayquaza's move pool is enormous, so don't be afraid to give it an odd attack.

Now for Darkrai. You should probably get rid of Shadow Ball. Dark Pulse and Shadow Ball are both good against the same types, and are both bad against Dark and Steel. Plus, Dark Pulse gets STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) while Shadow Ball does not. Instead, give it a move like Psychic or Sludge Bomb (I'd prefer Psychic, to help against any Fighting-types that get in Darkrai's way).

Okay, Kyogre. First off, it definitely doesn't need three water-type attacks. You DEFINITELY don't need Aqua Tail, since its a physical attack, and Kyogre's special attack is much higher than its attack. Give it the TM Thunder. Thanks to Kyogre's ability, it'll be raining when you send it out, giving Thunder 100 accuracy. You might want to get rid of Hydro Pump, mainly because of its lousy accuracy. Surf is a wonderful water-type attack, so consider getting rid of Hydro Pump and/or Water Spout for that.

Mewtwo. Well, I like that moveset, except for Future Sight. Unfortunately, all of the attacks Mewtwo learns that do damage (besides Aura Sphere and Swift) are Psychic-type. So, you'll have to get into the TM's. It can learn a lot of TM's, so pick a special attack TM that you really like and teach it to Mewtwo.

Finally, Shaymin. You can get rid of Magical Leaf for a nice Giga Drain. It has the same power, but Giga Drain heals you a little bit. Other than that, the moveset isn't too bad, although you might want to replace Substitute with Psychic. It's just a suggestion, since Shaymin can't learn any damage-dealing attacks that aren't Grass, Psychic, or Normal. (If you trade it to Platinum, a few move tutors can give it a few other attacks, such as Ground-types.)

Finally, type matchups!

Okay, your only major weakness is Bug-type attacks (three of your Pokemon have weakness to Bug-type attacks). However, that's not very common. Besides, two of your Pokemon have resistance to Bug-type attacks, so I wouldn't worry too much. Two of your Pokemon have weakness against Rock-type attacks, but that's not really a big deal.

Good team, Gardevoir! I hope I helped!

Well, that team is pretty tough. I don't want to sound, what's the word, conceited, but with some of those tips I gave, that team could become pretty dang tough!

Awesome team, Gardevoir! I just battled it, and I didn't read this until after the battle (I swear). I noticed something during the battle. Kyogre is usually sent out pretty early when you battle (like before Arceus faints) and that really hurts Arceus, as that pretty much kills Judgment, his strongest attack. This is ONLY a suggestion, and you DON'T have to do this. Perhaps you could give Arceus a different plate. If you do, however, you should probably teach a Fire-type attack to another Pokemon (or even Arceus!). Or, you could work on keeping Kyogre out of the battle for a while. Those are just some suggestions.

You're welcome.

OR you could sort of BASE your team on the rain. Start with Kyogre to get the rain going for the whole battle, and use it to your advantage. I've seen teams based on Hail and Sandstorm before (but not at the same time, lol).

I gave Arceus a fist plate. Do you think that would be better? Also Mewtwo knows flamethrower, should I teach one of my other pokemon another fire type attack or just have Mewtwo be the only one with a fire type attack.

It's fine with only Mewtwo. However, now that Arceus knows a Fighting-type Judgment, you won't need Brick Break anymore.

I thought of putting together a non-uber team.

Right now I have a Gardevoir and Spiritomb. Any other suggestions?

Your non-uber team is pretty good, but I suggest taking defenses into account. Remember that Blissey has awful defense, and great special defense. My Azumarill can OHKO your Blissey (and it has) so don't let that happen. That's why you have two walls: a physical and a special wall. Also, try to keep physical and special offenses balanced (Seismic Toss, Night Shade, or any other attack with set amount of damage doesn't count). Other than that, your team is great! I look forward to battling it again in the near future.

I have no idea. I would recommend teaching it to either a fast Pokemon or a bulky one (preferably a bulky one).
